Up, the day’s begun. Coffee’s for my mind
Phone, I’ll turn it on, it’s time to feel the grind
Fall into the world that doesn’t feel like life
Work, and internet, those things that pass the time
But are all my freedoms all just the same?
And are all my freedoms all just in vein?
Cuz I don’t see them when I’m walking on down the line
And I don’t feel them when I’m thinking all of the time
When I woke up this morning, my thoughts were alarming:
Is my life so boring?
I sleep in the evening, some tossing and turning
The alarm always beckons
Has it just been a life of all the above?
Just rinse and repeat it
The extent of my day is rather mundane:
Just work, sleep and eating
Home, the day is done. Crack a beer, unwind
Phone, I’ll turn it off — don’t wanna hear that chime
Fall into my songs, the fantasy of life
Sing, explore the world where I don’t feel time
But are all my freedoms all just the same?
And are all my freedoms all just in vein?
Cuz I don’t see them when I’m walking on down the line
And I don’t feel them when I’m thinking all of the time
Cuz when I woke up this morning, I turned the alarm off
I went back to snoring
I fell into dreaming, I could not believe it
What I was thinking
Has it just been a life of all the above?
Just rinse and repeat it
All of my freedoms and all I’ve achieved
Is a life of escaping
